Au Sud de la plage de Gyeongpo se trouve le village du Chodang Sundubu, réputé pour son sundubu (tofu à l’eau). Le long de ce célèbre quartier gastronomique de Gangneung, les haricots sont écrasés pour produire le Chodang Sundubu. Ensuite, en plusieurs étapes, l’eau salée de la Mer de l’Est est utilisée dans le processus de coagulation, pour obtenir un tofu doux et léger. Le nom du village « Chodang » vient du nom d’une célèbre famille qui vivait autrefois à cet endroit, du nom de Chodang-Heoyeop. Heoyeop était le père de l’écrivain et poète Heo-gyun (1569-1618) et de la poétesse Heonan-seolheon (1563-1589). Une maison de style traditionnel coréen a été construite à l’endroit où se trouvait autrefois la maison de Heo-gyun et de Heonan-seolheon.

est à la fois entouré par la mer de l’Est, par des montagnes et par le village Jeongdongjin. Dans ce parc principalement
composé de pinèdes, des bancs sont placés en face de la mer et il
y a aussi
un accès à la plage Jeongdongjin.

Un sablier ne sert pas à montrer l’heure comme le fait un cadran solaire, mais il mesure le temps qui passe via la quantité de sable qui tombe. C’est pourquoi le sablier est souvent utilisé pour déterminer la vitesse.

Le Parc Moraesigye a été ouvert en 1999 conjointement par la ville de Gangneung et l’entreprise Samsung Electronics pour rendre hommage au siècle à venir. Un sablier géant a été construit dans ce but. Avec ses 8 m de diamètre, sa largeur de 3 m et son poids de 40 tonnes dont 8 tonnes de sable, ce sablier est l’un
des plus grands sabliers du monde. Le sable met une année entière pour tomber complètement, et à chaque nouvel an à minuit le sablier recommence à zéro.

La plage de Jeongdongjin s'étend sur 250 m de la gare Jeongdongjin jusqu’au parc Moraeshigae en passant par les digues de Jeongdongjin. De nombreux rochers en face de la gare Jeongdongjin abritent une grande variété de crustracés comme des moules et des oursins de mer. Il est aussi possible de profiter de la nature en visitant le parc de sculptures (Sunrise) et Heonhwaro, tous deux situés au sud du parc Moraeshigae. Le train touristique « Sunrise Jeongdongjin » est aussi très apprécié des touristes depuis sa création en 1997. On compte aussi de nombreux visiteurs qui se rendent au sommet du mont Goseong, notamment au pavillon Yeongin, pour admirer les levers de soleil.

La porte Imyeonggwan Sammun est située à Yonggang-dong à Gangneung dans la province du Gangwon-do.
